"Envelope 24" is a diptych which holds a balance between classical music and heavy metal. The first part is a processus in which every guitarist holds his own tempo. As harmony gradually changes, accents are lifted out of the texture to form an ever evolving melody.
In stark contrast to this soundscape, the second part brings a more aggressive statement. In a first development, complex rhythmical patterns are combined with the use of power chords. This chaotic construction makes way for a rather odd sounding music box. Slowly this pendulum-like module transforms and the piece swirls back into chaos.
While rushing to the end, the opening theme gets stuck in a vortex and violently dissolves.
