O MAGNUM MYSTERIUM: This interesting work for mixed voices was commissioned by Mr. Fumiaki Kuriyama, Tokyo (Japan) and talks about the "mystery" of Christ's birth. The work starts with a "pianissimo parlato", trying to express the moment in which the people receive the news of the birth of God's son, individually showing strangeness for an event that, I suppose, would create lots of doubts.

It continues in a traditional melodic way, always trying to express the deepest of Christian feelings. The harmony reinforces the course of a text very used by composers in choral history, which explains easily what happened in Belen. The work ends with an exultant "Alleluia", with which Christians "sing" their happiness for Jesus birth.

* This song has been recorded on a CD in 2005 under the conduction of composer Javier Busto himself. The CD goes over 25 years of composing and contains exclusively music for mixed choirs. It is actually available at the website.
