Het Choralis Constantinus is de eerste verzameling (in drie delen!) van polyfone bewerkingen van het proprium voor het hele liturgische jaar. Tot dan hadden enkel ordinariumdelen volledige polyfone bewerkingen gekregen. Het eerste en derde deel zijn gecomponeerd voor de Koninklijke kapel van Habsburg, en het tweede deel (niet meer in voorraad) voor de kathedraal van Konstanz. Dit uitzonderlijk belangrijk werk werd postuum gepubliceerd door Formschneider in Nürnberg. Heinrich Isaac's bekende leerling Ludwig Senfl vervolledigde nog enkele composities. De basis van het proprium - introitus, graduale, alleluia en communio - vertegenwoordigt de constante factor in deze cycli.
