This edition is based on Christoph-Helmut Mahling's Urtext edition of Mozart's Sinfonia concertante K. 364, which was published in the New Mozart Edition (NMA V/14/2: Concertone, Sinfonia concertante, Kassel etc. 1975, BA 4569). In our arrangement for violin, viola and piano, the violin part and the viola part - written by Mozart in scordatura - were left unchanged and are thus identical with the versions in the NMA. A viola part in E-flat major has also been included in this edition, so that the violist does not have to retune his instrument.

The piano arrangement adheres to the original orchestral score. Detailed information regarding the origin and history of the work and its sources as well as the editorial principles of the NMA are found in the Vorwort and Kritischer Bericht of NMA V/14/2.
