Thomas Attwood (1765-1838) war von 1784 bis 1787 Schüler Wolfgang Amadeus Mozarts. Er wirkte seit 1795 als Organist an der St. Pauls Cathedral in London, ab 1821 als Organist der Privatkapelle König Georgs IV. in Brighton und wurde 1836 Organist der Königlichen Vokalkapelle. Seine dreisätzige Sonatine in G-Dur (Allegro - Minuetto Andante - Rondo Allegro) besticht durch ihre verspielte und sangliche Thematik. Die Begleitung erfolgt in der linken Hand nahezu ausschließlich in gebrochenen Akkorden, so dass der Schüler oder Spieler sich vollkommen auf die Ausgestaltung der Melodielinie konzentrieren kann.
