Description
Jacques Ibert (1890–1962) composed the Histoires… between 1910 and 1921, in a context marked by the First World War and his stay at the Villa Medici in Rome. These ten pieces for piano draw their inspiration from observed scenes, tales, real or imagined landscapes, and figures encountered throughout his life. Between Debussy’s legacy and Ravel’s spirit, Ibert displays a luminous and refined style, where each piece becomes a sound painting, both intimate and evocative.
